Can you see the changes

Hi Everyone, well, here I go again, moving forward with the latest BJ work. I have decided that in this whole piece will be broken down into 3 months, just as I just finished the corresponding 3 months work earlier.
I hope when these 4 pieces are completed they will hang in sequence together. I haven't decided as yet to make them one hanging, or 4 seperate ones. I can tell you though that I'm having a great time working my way through these projects. To date I have decided on several more which I will begin after this one is done. I hope my next project to be a very detailed rose pattern. A friend gave me the piece of material and the rose is so lovely that I just thought what a wonderful beaded piece it will make also.....so for now, I'll pull back the reins a bit in order to finish this work before I go galloping ahead in my thoughts to the next piece.
Soon I'll be adding another picture after this one for the 4th Jacobean BJ because I plan on getting busy once again and showing you all the results.
Enjoy our new beaded journey, I certainly am.

My 4th in the series of Jacobean challenges

Jul 17 and now moving forward. This is going to be my last Jacobean work at this time. I have begun the 4th of 4 blocks and I'm having such a great time working these pieces.
I feel I'm getting a lot bolder in my bead choices and the adventure of discovery is very pleasing indeed. This block has already a history and I'm only beginning. Do you notice the green beaded vines and leaves. Thanks Catharine for your gift of Mill Hill green beads. I'm using them in this block to remind us that spring and summer both follow the coming winter months. I found some real treasure beads for this interesting look. Top right are multi-faucetted beads removed from a necklace found in a garage sale....and if you notice the larger white beads in the center section they also were found treasures. Didn't quite know where I'd ever use them but today I found a place. These beads are covered with a sparkly, gritty type of covering...yet in spots there is a smooth section showing through. These beads make the best ever seed pods covered richly in snow and frost.
I have more plans for this block but I'm sure if you stay tuned you will see them all eventually.

Oh Boy, here I go again. This is a new stitch page I'm starting to work the practice stitches of my Walk In The Garden wall picture. This will be my first large teaching project starting Setpember 2007,,,,,,so here I go again, putting into perspective some of the stitches I have learned over the years thanks to my On-Line Quilting sisters. Thanks to everyone who has helped me each step of the way.

Now watch my garden grow. :) I will keep the finished picture until the end of this growing season and then share with everyone watching these pages with me.

Jacobean part 3 of 4 September's Efforts

Oh isn't this fun to move ahead, to actually continue the committment I started with all the members in BEAD LUST. Jackie and Shari, you are both my love and my inspiration. Thanks for all the sharing of ideas and posts. It really helps.
Anyway, here are working on the September's journal. What better way to make this month effort than to begin bringing in the fall theme. You can see in this journal that I've begun to feel the touch of cold and colour changes. Oh what fun this block was to complete. Let me explain a few of my choices to you if I may.
The Purple central 3 petal flower is a treasure. I found the stones on a skirt in the "Boutique" of Good Will Thrift store. It was loaded with gold beads and gold sequins, and the smallest blue sequins I have ever seen. (Oh yes, the blue sequins are found in my Augest Journal with the baby bird feathers. I tried a new trick with this journal....do you see the orange beads at the bottom of the picture? This is called a STOP BEAD method. I have small square orange tinted beads being held to the piece with orange Seed and Bugle beads...what an effect. I wish I could have made them longer so they would dangle and move around a bit more. Oh well, maybe next time.
The golden leaves were taken from a ribbon strand which Mum shared with me. They are fantastic although they do wiggle around a bit and show some of the pattern traced behind. Oh well, again another lesson learned...don't press so heavy when tracing the pattern.
My final challenge was the larger leaf behind the purple stones. Do you see it? I used small pearl beads to outline the very edge of the leaf. I hoped this would introduce the tinge of late autumn frosty look. I still haven't decided if I will fill in the whole leaf, or just leave the edges to suggest the coming coldness that is awaiting us in the coming months.
Now I being the larger challenge that awaits me. Putting all the picture parts together and completing Stage 4 of 4. It is going to take a bit of time for this one I think as there are more challenged to face completing the whole picture again, but yet differently. Wish me luck.

Hi Everyone,
Here I am again, and I'm just loving this new BEADLUST challenge. I have a story to tell about this section. I found a little baby Mourning Dove resting on our deck railing one morning. I was DEElighted to say the least. Next morning I went out to sit and do more bead work and found these tiny baby bird feathers. My heart sank....did I think something sad had happened to the baby? Well instead of wondering, I just said a little prayer for a sign to show me baby was OK.....and it happened. The very next morning I went out and sitting on my deck was not one baby, but 2 babies.....In memory of this experience and for a smile any time I reread this post I added the 5 little feathers to my central flower. I know it isn't truly Jacobean, but then, hey!!! Neither is my work on this BEAD FANTASY. I also tried to add balance just in case the baby was gone....you can see the bottom right hand leaf has a sort of YING-YANG symbol. I know now a better way of completing this look, but for now, what is there, is part of the journey so I'm leaving it alone.
Thanks for visiting.

Hi Everyone

Well here is my finished part 1 of 4 and did I ever enjoy doing this work. I had a bit of trouble at first seeing the differences between the red ring flowers or what they are to be...they almost look like life-savers to me.......there I go thinking of sweets again....better stop that right now.

Finally I decided to make one ring in the oil slick beads and the following one in plain red...I did this the way through the flowers and am very pleased with the results for sure.

Now if you can notice the larger leaf at the bottom of this work I was a bit disappointed with the final results. I think the rows of 2 toned green beads helped finally, but originally I wanted only the outline.....

The oval brown beads really pleased me. I had found them on a necklace that was in an open market jewellery stand. They are really just the ticket I thought. In fact, the stand was so impressive that I've returned now 2 times to pick my fill of beads...they are glass and the necklaces come 6 for $5....and they are on a coil which I simply straighten out and then roll right off the coil and into my bead box. You will be seeing them in part 3 of 4 I think...but then I've been known to change my mind several times since starting this project haven't I?

Thanks for sharing my fun with me.....onward and forward and onto July's section of this Jacobean project. Catch up with you all later I'm sure.

Hugs
Dee
